Wishing all sentient beings a very happy Saka Dawa. The Shakyamuni Buddha was born, enlightened and passed away in this month. It is the holiest and most auspicious month in our Tibetan calendar.

In May, a dozen of our college students are assisting the Lower Mustang Eye Expedition. It will be held at three major places like Tukche, Kagbeni and Marpha from 21st to 26th May. We have expected 1000 patients, out of which cataract surgery for 30 patients. Dooley Intermed Foundation, NY is funding everything.

About Pokhara
Pokhara, a beautiful valley, lies to the western side of Nepal and is 200km drive(7 hours) or 30 minutes fly from Kathmandu. It is the second largest city of Nepal with approximately 250,000 inhabitants. It is the second most populated city in Nepal and also serves as the headquarters of Kaski district, Gandaki zone and the Western Development Region. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. Three out of the ten highest mountains in the world: Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu or Lamjung Himal are situated here. It gives you very scenic and panoramic views of the Himalayas.
The enormous range of Annapurna, the pyramid shaped Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the boasting Dhaulagiri add more attraction to the valley. There are three lakes which are Fewa(the main lake) Begnas and Rupa, 60m deep gorges from where the milky white water flows, the ancient Mahendra Cave and the breath-taking water-fall which is known as David’s Fall. They all help to decorate the valley.
